These titles move from State to State each year, having been conducted in Adelaide 2009, moving to the Gold Coast 2010, and then to NSW in 2011 at Newcastle. Check the Tennis Seniors Australia website for further details www.tennisseniors.org.au

The Australian Teams’ Trophy is contested each year by all the states, plus there are usually a few other teams from New Zealand and Japan. Averages are kept for the entire state’s performances throughout the week, and the winning team is the one with the highest aggregate.
The Teams’ week consists of friendly rivalry and is a really good chance to get to know players from our own state as well as the other players who participate. Each state has a “State Dinner” on the Monday night, with both ‘old’ and ‘new’ representatives joining in a spirit of fun and camaraderie to set the week off on a happy note. Sometimes they are on the dance floor until almost midnight – then have to get to tennis by 8am in some cases!
Teams of at least four players are organised by each state’s Selectors and compete in up to two timeslots per day. Each division has to play either 8am and 1.10pm or 10.35 and 4.15, with each match lasting up to 2 and a half hours. Play ceases after the bell. Age groups are defined in 5 year increments, starting with 35+, and going up to 80+ for Men and 75+ for women. Players can sometimes play eight sets in one day, but with larger teams, they get to have a rest.
